Turning around the Castleford football program has not been an overnight process, with the team now getting set to embark on year three under head coach Brian Lowry.

Against the high-powered offenses residing within the 1AD2 Sawtooth Conference, the Wolves struggled to slow the opposition down. Every opponent outside of Richfield scored 44 points or more.

The offseason has been spent looking to get stronger in the weight room to match up against some of the larger teams in the classification.

Second Team All-Conference offensive lineman Colton Leitch highlights the returners and will provide a steady presence on the front of the line.

Tight end and safety Carter Schilder is one of the players that the Wolves will have to replace.

In the two wins for Castleford in 2019, the offense put up 56 and 62 points, with the team not eclipsing 22 in any of the losses. When the offense clicks, good things have happened for the team, which hopes to become more consistent in that regard to allow for more wins this time around. It was a similar story in Lowry’s first season in 2017, when the team scored 58, 44 and 46 points in wins and no more than 20 in losses.

Game one for Castleford this season comes on August 30 at Hansen.
